Laura Hanna Receives “Love of Learning Award”

VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University’s alumna Laura Hanna received one of the Phi Kappa Phi national Love of Learning awards for 2013.

The Love of Learning Award is a post-undergraduate scholarship that supports students attending graduate school or engaging in projects that promote lifelong learning.

Hanna was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, an interdisciplinary and international honor society, as a junior in the spring of 2012.  She served as student vice president of the bet365亚洲官网 chapter from 2012 to 2013.

“When I applied for the award, I knew I would be competing against some of the nation’s brightest and most deserving students,” Hanna said. “I was surprised and honored to be counted among these top students when I learned I had won one of these awards.”

While at bet365亚洲官网, Hanna received several scholarships including the Hugh C. Bailey Scholarship, the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Georgia Scholarship and the Ty Cobb Educational Foundation Scholarship. In April 2013, Hanna was also honored with the Annie Powe Hopper Award, bet365亚洲官网’s most prestigious undergraduate award.

Hanna is attending graduate school at Auburn University, majoring in English.
